Our Story
The 804 family has come together from a diverse set of backgrounds and regions to establish the brand that is cherished today. From Geneva, Switzerland, to Charleston, South Carolina, from California to Virginia, we have come together to bring you the exceptional quality you deserve.

We struggled for a long time to pick a name for our new family venture and finally settled on 804 Cattle Company because 804 is the the area code where our family’s story began. Our paths took us to many different area codes and brought us back together in the DC area.
Our Family
John and Chantal Brooks
Our story begins with John and Chantal. Dr. John Brooks Jr. is originally from Charleston, SC. Dr. Chantal Brooks is originally from Geneva, Switzerland and while on a medical school rotation met her future husband and business partner, John. The Drs. Brooks started an internal medicine practice together in Norfolk, VA that lasted for over 30 years while simultaneously raising their family in Chesapeake, VA. John and Chantal purchased the farm in Upper Marlboro, MD when they retired in 2016.

Stephen and Roxann Brooks Motroni
Roxann is the youngest daughter in the Brooks’ family and is the black sheep as she attended veterinary school rather than medical school at the University of California, Davis.  While in school, she met her California-native husband, an agriculture business major from Cal Poly, Stephen. After convincing Stephen to move back east with her, they settled in Upper Marlboro, MD and live on the farm with their children. Roxann oversees the health and management of the cattle herd and Stephen manages the farm finances.
Justin and Katie Brooks
Justin is the middle son in the Brooks’ family and carried on the family’s medical tradition at Washington University in St. Louis.  While in school, he met his wife, Katie, a nurse who is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. Justin and Katie currently live in Falls Church, VA and have two children. They are actively involved in the company’s marketing, sales and customer service.
Jason Brooks
Jason is the eldest son in the Brooks’ family and attended Old Dominion University. Jason has two sons and lives in Richmond, VA. Jason is involved in the company’s marketing, sales and customer service.
