Shepherd's Pie

This hearty casserole has seasoned ground beef and vegetables smothered in creamy mashed potatoes. It is a heartwarming, healthy, single dish meal that the whole family (or just you) will enjoy!

Ingredients
- (3/4 Cup) Onions - finely chopped
- (3 cloves) Garlic - chopped
- (1-2 Tbsp) Vegetable or Olive Oil
- (2 lbs) Ground Beef
- (1 Cup) Carrots - finely chopped
- (Pinch) Thyme
- (Pinch) Oregano
- (1-2 Tbsp) Worcestershire Sauce
- (1 Tbsp) A1 Steak Sauce - optional
- (To taste) Salt
- (To taste) Pepper
- (3 Cups) Potatoes - cut in chunks
- (2 Tbsp) Milk or Cream
- (2 Tbsp) Butter
- (1 Cup) Frozen Peas - optional
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Start a pot of salted water to boil. This will be used to cook your potatoes.
- Sautee onions and garlic in oil until translucent.
- Add 804 Ground Beef, carrots, thyme, oregano, Worcestershire Sauce, A1 Steak Sauce (optional), to pan. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook and stir until meat is nicely browned and rendering it’s juices.
- Meanwhile boil potatoes until tender in pot of salted, boiling water.
- Drain potatoes and add milk or cream and butter. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Mash potatoes until smooth.
- Mix frozen peas (optional) into beef mixture and transfer to oven safe, moderately-deep casserole dish.
- Spread mashed potatoes over the top of the beef mixture.
- Place casserole in oven at 350 F and bake for 20-30 minutes.
